A couple months ago we attended our friend’s wedding in Croatia and since we were already in Europe we figured we might as well make a couple stops and visit other friends and family. The first stop of our trip was Zagreb, Croatia to attend Ana and Matea’s wedding. We took a flight from Los Angeles to Frankfurt, Germany and then went on to Zagreb. This was our first time flying on Lufthansa and both Brett and I were impressed. We were nervous about taking a 1 year old on such a long flight but the flight attendants were great and of course Kaia is a travelling pro. She did an amazing job. She talked a lot, constantly wanted to explore on foot, slept for a total 4 hours on our red eye flight :(, but no breakdowns, piercing cries, or poopy accidents. We had a whole row to ourselves thanks to our lovely flight attendant. Kaia even had her own bassinet to get some beauty rest.
We stayed in Croatia the longest but it felt like time went by way too fast. The first half was spent in Zagreb full of wedding stuff and some sight seeing. It was our first time at a Croatian wedding and it was beautiful. The ceremony was in this really old church where Ana and her family goes to. The reception was in a fancy museum and it lasted until 5 o’clock in the morning! They even had a Gypsy band come and perform.

Kaia had her very own bassinet.

Our first day in Croatia was Kaia's actual 1st birthday. Ana's family was nice enough to throw her a mini birthday party.
Here is a really nice cemetery in Zagreb where lots of famous and important people are buried.

Kaia loves bananas. We thought she'd like a picture with it.
|
Apparently not.

Our friends just opened an American inspired bakery so we came by to check it out.

Kaia's not so secret admirer. He literally took 100 pictures of her that night.

It's traditional to have a luncheon with the two newly joined families the day after the wedding. Here's Kaia playing in the backyard after eating.
The 2nd half of our Croatia trip was mostly spent in Dubrovnik, Croatia. Ana had a family friend who had an amazing vacation home on an island called Kolocep, which is a 40-minute ferry ride from the mainland Dubrovnik. The walled city of Dubrovnik was one of the most beautiful and impressive things we have ever seen. We couldn’t stop taking pictures. It seemed like everywhere we looked was a photo op.

We stayed in the house on top.

We had such a great time in Dubrovnik a lot of which can be attributed to our new friends Ann and Mindy. Here is a picture of Ann.

Kaia's highlight of the day was her stealing Snezana's water bottle.

Kaia made lots of friends.
We flew to and from Dubrovnik. Here is our tiny plane.

We spent our last night in Croatia having dinner with Tea's family.
We loved our time in Croatia and we hope to make it back soon.
